Each part in this section will be accompied by a picture,
if even at the least just follow the pictures, but read the text if you want
more information about each section.
The first step is to setup the client so you only connect to the free areas. With shareaza selected press F7 and it should bring up a window like the one below.

The first step is to set the default policy to deny, this will stop you from connecting to anyone. If at anytime you with to download data which is not free, set this default policy to accept. Right click and set the default policy to deny.

Now the client is setup to connect to no-one, this
isn't helpful so now we want to define some rules which allow it to connect
to the netspace SA network. Luckily this is done by typing in a URL. Right click
select import and place this url exactly as shown here in the place provided.
If all goes well your rule set should now look like this.
http://advisns.customer.netspace.net.au/NetspaceSA.xml

Now you will only be able to connect to free sites, and all data transferred via this program will not count towards your monthly data.
Now its time to configure the client so you get the maximum usage. Go to the settings located under Tools>shareaza settings.
Gwebcache
In shareaza press F9 and delete all discovery caches in there. Right click and
add a new service/discovery cache
http://saixdonkey.sytes.net/gwebcache/gcache.php
Upon adding this one, another one should appear. This discovery cache helps
users find each other and enhances the network.
There isn't too much to worry about here, most of these setting are self explanatory. One thing to note is to set the "Show rates in", you want to set this to KB/s.

You probably just want to make sure all the boxes below are ticked. If you
want to know the specifics of these options please visit the shareaza homepage.
Just make sure these boxes are ticked.
Watch library folders > This will Hash any new files which are downloaded
or copied to shared a directory.
Allow other to browse shares > This will allow other users to browse what
you have shared.

This section is up to you, Change or don't change whatever you want.

Click Edit your profile, and if you didn't on the install setup a screen name so you can be identified, also please use the same screen name in irc so you can be contacted if needed.
Have the chat enabled, this will other users to leave shareaza messages for you.

If you don't use other programs like gnutella, eMule, eDonkey2k etc i'd suggest to have all these options ticked, as for the download manager that's up to you.

The networking section is the most important. If it is not setup correctly shareaza will not work to its full potential.
Network>Network
The best thing to do for this screen is to copy what i've got setup below.
Please don't change any of the check boxes unless you know what you are doing.
e.g. as forcing yourself to be a hub etc causes your connection to be detrimental
to the network

Inbound Address:
Address > Leave as automatic
Speed > Change this to your download connection speed (512~54KB/s,
256~30KB/s, 128~14KB/s)
Port > whatever you set this port to make sure you have
forwarded it to you computer if you are behind a firewall/router, If you need
help doing this please ask in the IRC channel.
Outbound Address:
Address > Leave as automatic
Speed > Change the setting to the revelant upload speed
of you connection.
NOTE: The speeds which are indicated here are your max upload and download speeds, there are settings later in which you will be able to limit you uploads and downloads. If these speeds are set to low then you will no upload or download at the correct speeds, and once again you will not get the full benefit of shareaza.

Recieve Bandwidth:
If you wish to limit the speed at which you recieve files then only option you
want to change here is Download Trasfers. Please leave all other to U/L
Transmit Bandwith:
Leave all the settings as U/L except Upload Transfers. In the Total
column set the speed to something that is resonsable for you connection, to
much upload speed lags your connection. This table below should outline the
approx speeds for the several connection types, but each connection is differenet
depending on distance from exchange, line quality etc etc so you may wish to
increse or decrease this value as you see fit.
256 ~ 24KB/s
128 ~ 11KB/s
64 ~ 5KB/s
IMPORTANT: Come back and check these setting after the Uploads section has been changed as this is where the max connects are changed, and can cause values to change here.

This section is for your downloads. Each option shouold be self explantory, if you aren't sure just leave it how it is. Just make sure you've got you save location setup.

Small File Queue > This section arranges the smaller files
to be tranferred quicker than the larger files, eg mp3's, text files, documents.
Smaller than(KB) > This denotes what a "small file
is" the setting of 5120 allows files of ~5Mb to enter the SQ(Small queue)
Number of transfers > Set this to 1, all it does is says
that there may only be 1 user downloading a SQ file at any time.
Maximum queue size > Sets how many users to queue in the
SQ. A value of 5 minium is suggested.
Large file Queue > This is where all the movies, games
etc are queued, the LQ(Large Queue) files.
Number of transfers > Best set to 2 users, this will be
the amount of users in your LQ that can download from you at any one time.
Maximum queue size > Best set to the default (20) but you
can change this, It is better to have this option higher as other users can
then see where they stand when downloading a file.
Limits
Limit per unique host > Set this to 1. It says that each
unique host can only have 1 file in queue or download 1 file at any one time.

Thats it for the setup, Just remember to check Bandwidth section again to see
that your settings are correct.
If you need an IP to initally connect to join us in IRC and ask someone. Read
the FAQ for tips on how to use shareaza browse user files etc.
